Qualifications & Professional Training
My name is Danielle, and I am a UK-based counsellor and psychotherapist working with adults aged 18+ across the UK. I am based in Dorset and originally from the Greater Chicago Area in the United States.
As an American who has relocated to the UK myself, I understand that moving countries and adapting to a new culture, environment, and way of life can bring its own unique challenges. I particularly welcome working with Americans living in the UK who may be navigating homesickness, cultural adjustment, identity, relationships, or the emotional challenges of building a life away from home.
I am a US-trained Clinical Mental Health Counsellor, holding a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, completed in 2022, and a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counselling, completed in 2025. I am an Accredited Registrant Member (MNCPS Acc.) of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS). My training and clinical experience have equipped me to work collaboratively with clients and adapt my therapeutic approach to their individual needs, circumstances, and goals.
I support adults experiencing a range of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, stress, perfectionism, low self-esteem, emotional overwhelm, intrusive thoughts, attention and focus difficulties, emotional regulation challenges, and relationship or communication challenges. I also have a particular interest in providing affirming support to LGBTQIA+ individuals. You can see additional areas I support here.
My approach is integrative and collaborative, drawing on evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI), tailored to your individual needs and goals. I am compassionate, approachable, and client-focused. I value building a trusting therapeutic relationship where you feel safe, heard, understood, and supported, while providing a steady and structured space to work towards change.
Seeking support is a powerful and courageous step. I offer a safe, supportive, and non-judgemental space where we can explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences together. My aim is to support you in developing greater clarity, emotional resilience, and meaningful change through a collaborative therapeutic relationship.
I offer online counselling and psychotherapy sessions across the UK, providing flexible and accessible support.
Outside of work, I enjoy reading, gardening, spending time outdoors, playing games, arts and crafts, going to concerts, and spending time with family.
Above all, I aim to offer an inclusive and affirming therapeutic space for individuals of all backgrounds, identities, and life experiences. I’m here to walk alongside you as you navigate life's challenges, offering a space to listen, support, and empower you. Healing is possible, and you don’t have to do it alone.
